Margaret Woolley Busse has taken a leave from full-time employment in order to be at home with her three young children. Prior to this, Ms. Busse worked as a consultant at the Bridgespan Group, helping to analyze and propose solutions to strategic problems at non-profit organizations in Boston, New York, Washington D.C., and Kansas City.
Ms. Busse’s career has also included spending several years at the U.S. Treasury Department. She worked first as a financial economist for the Office of Financial Institutions Policy, where she analyzed and wrote policy for credit unions and other types of financial institutions. Ms. Busse then worked as a financial analyst for the Treasury Department’s Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund, where, through application due diligence, analysis, and site visits, she determined where and how millions of federal dollars should be lent or granted to CDFIs across the country.
Ms. Busse is an active participant in the community. She currently volunteers as a board member of Boston-based Lena Park CDC, and has volunteered her time doing non-profit consulting as well as organizing conferences for various causes such as strengthening the family and social enterprise. She has recently founded a women’s salon-style discussion group called FUSION.
Ms. Busse holds a MBA from Harvard University, a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Brigham Young University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in both Public Policy and Economics from Brigham Young University, where she graduated cum laude and with university honors.
